Association of Georgian and Polish Lawyers was established within the framework of cooperation between TSU Faculty of Law and European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder).
The founding event of the Association was hosted by Tbilisi State University on March 5.
TSU Rector Jaba Samushia, Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law Tamar Zarandia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Georgia H.E. Mariusz Maszkiewicz, President of the Association of Georgian and Polish Lawyers Professor Giorgi Khubua and President of the same Association from the Polish side, Professor Arkadiusz Wudarski addressed the audience with a welcome speech. Furthermore Dr. Pawel Sikora, a co-founder of the Association, gave the welcome speech.
TSU Rector, Professor Jaba Samushia emphasized the importance of establishing a Georgian-Polish platform and noted that it will strengthen the educational cooperation of the two countries.
The Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law, Associate Professor Tamar Zarandia spoke about the importance of the Association in the direction of mutual exchange of academic knowledge and practical experience and thanked Professor Giorgi Khubua and Professor Arkadiusz Wudarski for their initiative of establishing the above-mentioned Association.
The flagship initiative to establish the Association of Georgian and Polish Lawyers belongs to Professor Giorgi Khubua and Professor Arkadiusz Wudarski. They are the founders of the mentioned Association. In their welcome speeches they highlighted long-term friendly relationship of Georgian-Polish professional circles and expressed their belief that the Association will strenghten cooperation between the lawyers of the two countries and will support the enhancement of legal science.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Georgian academic circle and invited guests.
